The order the drivers sit in during the conferences?

In the pictures of meetings and conferences they have during the course of a race weekend the drivers are sat together in different orders, i have always wondered if the seating was random or if someone assigns them seats beforehand.
what about the thursday and friday ones?

I imagine they’re assigned seats, based on media microphones perhaps so maybe Fuji TV can put a microphone on a seat if Nakajima’s being interviewed that week, or BBC for Lewis or Jenson.

I don’t think they’re points-based or race position or whatever, the only thing maybe is that they’re placed next to drivers from different teams or ones they get on with to collaborate on answers and such…

  1. Same places as if they were on the podium.

  2. I think it is random I couldn’t find a connection really. They do tend to sit Hamilton, Raikkonen, Massa and Alonso (people with interesting things to say) in the center and front but no clear link really
    Edit:
I hope that you don’t mean the post race and post Qualify top 3 Press Conferences

  3. If it’s the post qualifying or post race, the order is as such:

    Middle- whoever is first
Right of the champion / pole sitter: Whoever came in second
Left of the champion/ pole sitter: Whoever came in third
