    yes and i still think it was unfair for the 49ers fire mariucci because on the 31-6 loss at Tampa bay i mean come on it was the #1 defense tampa bay

    @joseluischapeton15 ok maybe failure was a bit of a stretch when it came to Mooch. Up to the late 90’s, we were still a top tier team expected to win a championship. After Carmen and Eddie left, things changed a lot. Aside from Mariucci, they should had held on to players like J. Peterson, R.W. McQuarters, Andre Carter etc. feels like that was ages ago. Too bad Marriucci’s career went sour in Detroit. Because he was a great coach.

    @bosshoggish1 Mooch did bring in the wins. Could not had done a better job in replacing Siefert. But compared to what Mike Singletary inherited, Mariucci had a championship caliber team. Filled with superbowl veterans, young talent and free agency signings. He was a great coach, just wished won those critical Green Bay playoff games. BUT ITS A NEW ERA. GO NINERS!!!

    @afternoonvillain Mooch might have lacked the intensity that Singletary has but dont compare Nolan and Erickson to Mariucci…….Mooch was a good coach.

    being a bears fan i love how he brings the old school bears toughness to the 49ers. The 49ers should do something going to the playoffs ( all yall have to worry about is Arizona and yall won the NFC west)

    Player’s should …
    Player’s should feel fortunate to play for Singletary. Its not that he can make these guys great players, he builds character in guys who had no role models growing up. The best thing to happen to Vernon Davis was Mike Singletary. On some other team who knows what could have happened with his career. fines, suspensions, jail? With Singletary he’s now a pro bowl TE and a team leader.

    @afternoonvillain I agree with everything you said EXCEPT “Mooch” failed. Terrell Owens brought down the 49ers. Mooch brought the 49ers to the playoffs but Owen’s ego put him out the door along with Jeff Garcia. Remember Garrison Hearst and the huge O-Line of Ray Brown and Kevin Gogan played smash mouth football.

    Erickson and Nolan failed, your exactly right. Before the Yorks let Jed take over the team suffered as well.
