Is it unfair to schools of other conferences to have two teams in the National Title from the same conference?

If LSU wins out and OK state loses to Oklahoma, LSU should have to face Oklahoma or Oregon because those are the 2nd and 3rd best conference winners. Bama did not win their conference. Also a LSU-Bama game will exclude fans from other conferences outside the SEC.

  2. - Let me make it clear that I do NOT want to watch a rematch of LSU and Alabama…

    – That said, it’s not Alabama’s fault if the best team in the nation happens to play in the same conference as them. If at the end of the season Alabama ends up having 1 loss and is ranked #2 by the BCS, I don’t have a problem with them playing for a national championship.

    – Alabama only lost by 3 points, in overtime, to the #1 team in the nation LSU. I already saw Oregon play LSU…and Oregon gave up 40 points, lost by 13, and that was with LSU’s QB Jarrett Lee playing pretty poorly and without LSU’s Jordan Jefferson even in uniform for the game.

  3. Not exactly sure what you mean by "2nd and 3rd best", although I have an idea, of which you would be dead wrong.

    But it would basically be ludicrous to have Alabama and LSU play for the title. The whole BCS argument, is that the regular season is the most important regular season of any sport. Having a rematch of a game that just happened would completely destroy that argument, especially since there is no reason why it should happen. If it did happen, the BCS would lose all credibility, and in the process, lose probably a number of fans, which in turn would kill TV ratings, which is also something that the BCS is very concerned about.

    But if Oklahoma or Oregon win out, it doesn’t really matter what Alabama does. They will get leaped by both schools. Oklahoma beating both Baylor and Oklahoma State will be more impressive than Alabama beating lowly Auburn. Same with Oregon, beating USC and whoever they play in the Pac 12 title game, will still be more impressive than beating Auburn. Alabama can do nothing but sit and watch.
