When will our elected representatives grow up and see that recess is for primary school children not Congress?

There is serious business to attend to. Voters of all stripes are tired of Congressional shenanigans like midnight conference committee meetings and earmarks. It’s irresponsible to vote for bills you haven’t read. Earn your money and attend to business or resign.
…and J&CH would be….
better, one must assume

They don’t have to be responsible, they answer to no one except their parties and the companies and special interests that got them elected. The first laws of any new Congress is the designer legislation to that them for supporting the national parties.

Any legislation after that is generally designed for allocate money for public projects and if a Senator’s or Representative’s state or district isn’t scheduled ot get money they don’t care. Nine times out of ten the representatives don’t have to read the legislation, they just vote party lines.

Once elected they no longer represent their constituents, its all about adhering to the will of the Party… because its the Party that distributes reelection funds from the State and National party treasuries. (Ask Lieberman and Murtha what happens when you cross the party!)

  3. So do something about it. Get them voted out. Run for office yourself and make a change. Or just sit here and carp and complain. Remember. They are elected and are indeed the governing body, and you are … ?

  5. I agree. I only get a certain amount of time off from my job. Ican’t work at midnight and I can’t just ignore things or I would lose my job. Give them all two weeks of vacation and thats it. Congress has more recesses than schools and they don’t get half as much done.
