I have 4 speakers and an amplifier, I need to set up for a live event?
I have a peavey 400 Cs Amplifier 360 watts. and 4 speaker samson rs 15 225 watts. I need to put them in a theather, with music for ambience, and the rest for a live conference. Any advice or should I call the client and tell them I wont be able to do the event.
the event is for 1000 people
the speakers have 8 ohms
It’s difficult to answer you question without needing more specs for the amp and the speakers. But I will try.
If the amp can go down to 2ohms (a summing the speakers are all 8ohms) it can handle all 4 speakers. If the amp can only go down to 4ohms then you will need another amp for the extra 2 speakers.
It usually doesn’t matter how many people will attend, but what matters is the room that you’ll have to fill with sound. A room for 1000 people doesn’t seem so small to me, so you might need more sound reinforcement than what you have currently stated.
