In other conferences if there is a 3 way tie in a division, the highest ranked team goes to play for the Championship.

In the SEC if there is a 3 way tie, even if a team is ranked lower than another team (by less than 5 spots) they will still get in the title game if they had beat the other team earlier in the season. While the team they beat them was responsible to beat them, I think it should work against the team that won if they lost to a much lower ranked team.

I think its to ensure against error of the computer system that ranks the teams. If there is a tie that close, the SEC does not want a computer to decide a winner over only 5 ranks.

I’m looking for a really good conference on literacy or school libraries or elementary education or a large general education conference. It can have international conferences on there but I’m primarily looking for something in Eastern Canada or the US. I’ve never been able to find a really good, website that contains a comprehensive list of conferences for K-12 teachers.

The Internet is a wonderful invention. If you take your subject of your question and add to what you want to know about it, the search engine will do the rest. For example:

My subject is Primary and Secondary Education. I want to know where to get certified as a teacher.

The search engine result is as follows:

Teaching + state certification requirements

What you get is this: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Teachin…

This will work for any subject category. Give it a try and good luck

I like that approach better than just saying "Google it" or "Look online".

This would include scientific, academic, government, industrial and professional conferences. I am looking for a total number which are offered in the United States per year.

I have no idea of any specific number. It’s gotta be huge though. If you want a rough estimate though, go to a few of the large convention centers and look at their calendars. The minneapolis convention center had 33 events in April, so that’s about 400 conventions a year. Minneapolis has about 400 thousand of the 300 million people in the US, so the total number would be about 750 times that. I’d estimate then that there are about 300,000 conventions a year in the US. Less than a million, more than a hundred thousand.

Not sure anybody really gained – on balance you might decide that Stalin did as he took over a substantial part of Europe – but ulitmately it would prove untenable. To answer this you need to look carefully at the summaries of the conferences and analyse these before coming to your conclusion.

According to pbs.org there were 13 conferences held during World War II. Curiously, only two conferences included the leaders of the big three Winston Churchill, Joseph Stalin, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. These were the Tehran or Eureka conference as well as the Yalta conference. The last conference at Potsdam included now President Harry Truman along with Winston Churchill as well as Joseph Stalin. Please see the link below for more information.

Ok, and Truman, too.

There were many conferences during the war but only once did Truman (FDR had died), Churchill, Stalin, Atlee all meet at the same time. That was the last one, the Potsdam Conference July/August 1945.

Below is the list of conferences held during WW2, it says the list is incomplete but I don’t know of any others.
See in the Major participants column, different conferences were attended by different people, it was hard to get the leaders of the major Allies together at the same time.

in a 12 team league, i don’t think you need more than those 2 conferences. you have 24 teams. adding another conference would give you a bigger universe than the NFL offers… unless you want to make it easier. if that’s the idea, i’d include the Big Ten and/or Big 12. adding either of them would give you 35 or 36 teams. Definitely leave the Big East out, and i don’t think the ACC gives you all that much.

Every case is different and there are not any set numbers, it depends on the judge handling the case, when there are legitimate delays it could be 10 or 15 or even more before the trial and then the sentencing will happen if the person is found guilty. In most cases there is only one pretrial and then the trial but some there are delays that the judge will allow.}{
